Well, I was reading online about all that my homeowners insurance agency, Farm Bureau, and found that they have been frauding thousands of clients after they filed claims of home damages. Basically, their customers have suffered fires, storm damges, and other terrible things, but Farm Bureau has been using delay tactics and wind up suing their customers for whatever they can along with trying to change the contract during the investigation to benifit themselves during the claims. This is terrifying to me, because silly me thought that was what Insurance Agencies were for! Making sure we can recieve help if something like that were to happen to us. Can I switch agencies or do I have to stay a customer for a set number of years? And can I change because of these facts and how their doing their clients? Companies like Allstate, State Farm are international companies. That means they have 1 home office and write insurance in many states. For example, Allstate is based out of Illinois, but sells insurance in all states. So. unless you live in Missouri. this web site is not about your Farm Bureau company. Don't feel stupid for messing this one up. Even insurance professionals who do not take the time to research it get this messed up. 3. you will always find some disgruntled customer somewhere. When the guy pays $2, 000 a year in premiums. it's going to take 32. 5 years just to recoup the payout from that one claim. and that's provided he never files another claim! Of course, he's going to get canceled. And any company will cancel this guy. So, if you, in your ignorance want to run off and get a policy with someone else. by all means go! But I got news for you. you can find claims of mistreatment by all insurance companies on the internet. But, if you are a sane rational person and live in Missouri and have Missouri Farm Bureau, get off your fanny, pick up your phone and call the Missouri Department of Insurance and find out if any regulatory action has been taken against Farm Bureau
